ABINGTON, PA -- Ken Krawchuk, author of Atlas Snubbed, the parody of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, will be a featured speaker at Anarchapulco in Acapulco, Mexico on Saturday February 28, 2015. Anarchapulco is being organized by Jeff Berwick, host of the Anarchast, the "Home for Anarchist Podcasts on the Internet." The week-long conference is slated to be the first planet-wide gathering of anarchists and anarcho-capitalists of its kind, with an expected attendance of hundreds.

The title of Krawchuk's talk is "Anarchy... Then What"? In it, he examines how society could evolve from its present statist form to an Agoran one based exclusively on the non-aggression principle. Citing examples from his latest novel, Atlas Snubbed , Krawchuk explores the three core concepts necessary to reinventing society: the Separation of Society and State, the Separation of Regulation and State, and the Separation of Court and State.

"Although I'm not an anarchist," Krawchuk explained, "one thing I have in common with anarchists is that we all believe firmly in the non-aggression principle. To quote from my novel, 'You have the God-given, inalienable right to live your life your way without interference, provided you respect the rights and property of others.' Given that commonality, it's only natural that they'd be receptive to the sort of Society described in my novel, one based on peaceful, voluntary cooperation rather than at the point of a government gun."

Krawchuk is scheduled to speak on Saturday morning at 10:00. More information about Anarchapulco can be found on their website.

UPDATE:Video of Ken Krawchuk's presentation at Anarchapulco can be found on YouTube. Also, in a surprise development, Ken was asked to serve as emcee at Anarchapulco all day Saturday and Sunday. "The irony is inescapable," Krawchuk quipped. "A statist emceeing an anarchist conference? Gotta love it! To be fair, though, I must credit my Toastmasters training. That's where I learned not only how to run a conference, but also to have the courage and confidence to be able to speak in front of an audience of hundreds on zero notice. I highly recommend joining Toastmasters International."

ABOUT THE BOOK: Atlas Snubbed is a pastiche parody sequel to Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Weighing in at approximately one third the size of Rand's novel, Atlas Snubbed focuses alternately on the world inside Rand's philosophical enclave of Galt's Gulch and the outside world, and what happens when those worlds collide. Its genre spans commercial fiction, literary fiction and science fiction. The parody commences with the precise state of affairs that existed at the conclusion of Atlas Shrugged. The story is a fast-paced, apocalyptic tale of the bloody collapse of Rand's United States, the handful of American cities which survive, and the subsequent altercations between them. Each city embodies a different philosophical archetype, one of which develops a brand new political concept--the separation of Society and State--an approach which overcomes the shortcomings of all the other archetypes, including many of those of modern day America.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Ken Krawchuk is a Philadelphia native and long-time political activist who has run for political office eight times, including two record-breaking campaigns for Governor of Pennsylvania. He is an entrepreneur, an Information Technology professional, and holds three US patents related to computer database theory. He is also a professional public speaker, author, and an award-winning Distinguished Toastmaster. He and his wife Roberta have three grown daughters and three grandchildren (so far), and live in Abington Township, a Philadelphia suburb.
